Air France flight AF 3532 encounters large shapeshifting object — Coulommiers, France
On January 28, 1994 at 1314 hours, the crew of Air France flight AF 3532 (Nice-London) observed an anomalous object estimated at 10,500m altitude and approximately 50km distance. The object changed shape from a brown bell to a lens and then disappeared instantaneously. The Reims Air Navigation Control Center had no information on the object. The Taverny Air Defense Operations Center (CODA) confirmed a 50-second radar track coinciding in location and time. The estimated object length was approximately 250 meters. The Northern Regional Air Navigation Center had investigated only three comparable cases in seven years.
“The phenomenon was at an altitude of 10,500 m and at a distance of approximately 50 km... they deduced that the craft was large. They were struck by the changes in the shape of the craft, which first appeared in the form of a brown bell before transforming into a chestnut brown lens shape, then disappearing almost instantaneously.”
Corroborated by multiple crew members and radar. Weather balloon hypothesis was ruled out by CODA investigation. Source is COMETA report. 250m estimated length is derived analytically from angular size at 50km distance.
