Analysis — our summary

FBI Legal Attache in Havana reported that the Cuban daily newspaper Diario de la Marina published on November 12, 1957 an account by Jose Nieto and Carmel Guzman, who claimed to have seen a flying disc shaped like a man's hat hovering over the Matahambre area in Pinar del Rio Province. The disc was described as larger than ordinary aircraft normally seen in the area, completely silent, and disappeared at very high speed toward the sea. No additional corroborating reports were received and no inquiry was made by the Havana FBI office.
